Another Time Sucker

I ordered a new quilting toy to play with.  I finally joined the EQ6-ers.  Oh. My. Gosh.  What a time sucker…I could sit and play with this software for hours…literally…hours.  And I don’t have hours to spare! LOL

I did start sewing my sawtooth stars together…and the winner was……….drumroll, please…….sew them together as is! You knew it, didn’t you?  I only have one row together…after I get row two together and sewn to row one,  I will  know for sure if this is my final answer.  I may take them back apart and start over, with sashing.  We’ll see.  Thank you to everyone who took time to participate in my poll!

This is another week of golfing for my son, so I will be very scarce.  It will continue this way until after school starts in August.  I hope y’all are having a great summer!

I’ll leave you with some pretty zinnia photos from my yard.

  1. I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but never leave many comments. I have been thinking about getting EQ6, but I just can’t justify the purchase yet. I haven’t actually made a whole quilt top yet, much less a whole quilt. I’ve been playing around with blocks and I think I’m getting the hang of it. Do you know of any place near by that I could try the software out before purchasing? I’m not far from you; Canyon. I don’t know how much it would help me.

  2. Those are very pretty!!!!! I love EQ too! I’ve had it since version 3 and just keep upgrading. It saves me so much time being able to preview different looks etc. I used to joke that when I didn’t have time to actually quilt, I could take the laptop and virtually quilt!! Enjoy!!! Good luck to D this week!!

  3. I’ve had EQ for many years AND QuiltPro, but seldom use them, except for maybe looking at some balance in the design of a quilt. I ?NEVER got good at any of the programs. Mostly I LIKE the surprise of seeing what my REAL quilt will look like, , but also, by the time I work out the quilt and see the end result, I no longer need to see the REAL quilt.

However, they ARE fun just for doodling and fiddling – if you have time for it. 8-))) Oh yes, and for designing quilts if you are a designer, or a teacher.

  4. Congratulations on your new purchase. It’s not like we really need more things to keep us busy, is it? Enjoy the time with your family. Love the zinnias, did you plant them from seeds or plants? I just put in some plants and am looking forward to seeing them grow.

  5. wow ,………..lovely pictures. I really really must get my butt into gear and change to digital SLR….I know the brand…still fluffing on the model. And getting dressed and out in general.
6 is much easier to use. I started with 4 and have never used them well enough as I keep forgetting how to use them and the earlier ones were the least intuitive software I had ever used.
